Did I have a good weekend at UK Games Expo? The goofy grin on my face in every photo of me points to yes.

How tired am I after day 3 of UKGE? Aida said the lighting would be better on our haul photo if she took it from the side that meant everything would be upside-down, so I offered to rotate the table. She had to remind me we could just flip the photo.

There were setbacks, for sure. No games in the bar? Greggs closed early? Lesser people would crumble. But @in-the-pan.bsky.social rallied, and we met wonderful friends, chilled on the grass, bought LOTS of games and clocked 13,000 steps. Great first day of #UKGE everyone!

Reminder to anyone who takes antidepressants or antipsychotics - you are at higher risk of heat exhaustion, dehydration and sunburn. Fluoxetine, Citalopram and Sertraline are some of the most common. If you're taking these, be extra careful in this hot weather. Sun cream, shade and lots of water!

Spent the weekend GMing for a delightful family. They started off nervous about the rules, but 12 hours of gaming later we had tons of exciting and inspired moments from characters who all had really fun arcs. Thanks to @moonshineadventure.bsky.social for giving me one of the coolest jobs ever!

Every trans-supporting cis person in the UK needs to make peace with becoming more annoying, persistent, and pedantic than they ever thought possible. EHRC guidance is full of contradictions - they're relying on transphobic compliance out of fear. DON'T GIVE IT TO THEM

this is what I mean when I say "don't let orgs and managers see discriminating against trans folk as the path of last resistance". transphobes are persistent and annoying. be just as annoying. show them compliance is going to be a legal nightmare

There is an excellent argument to be made that, in forcing trans people to use limited facilities provided for disabled access (like toilets), the EHRC guidance undermines adequate provision for disabled people by increasing demand on facilities that were never designed to meet that demand.

Vital point that EHRC fails - again - to address: 'third' spaces like private hospital side rooms and wheelchair accessible toilets are already limited and oversubscribed. There aren't enough private hospital side rooms to accommodate both trans people AND those with a medical need for them.

Object to this in the strongest terms. Fight back in any way you can, not just because it will surely affect cis women who don't conform to the narrowest standards of femininity but because it will surely affect trans women. Trans people deserve our unwavering support in the face of this cruelty
