In a way, that Brendon Little inning in game 5 was like the sacrificial bunt for the Jays this series.

The issue is just funding and resources. That's it. Really the same as in education. You have to pay for it, and then it works wonderfully.

the post office is a public service. it doesn’t need to make money. public transit doesn’t need to make money. the library doesn’t need to make money. some things exist for the public good and we desperately need lawmakers to stop thinking about them in terms of capitalism. these are not businesses.

What Is Resilience Targeting?
Resilience targeting inflicts hopelessness and cynicism. These skills can help you stay motivated and hopeful when the whole world feels like a disaster.

Trans rights are not the rights of a tiny minority, trans rights are everyone’s rights to self-determination, control of our bodies, and a society where opportunity and aesthetics are not restricted by sex assigned at birth You should support and defend trans people because trans people are people

all the best windows software in history is called something like "joe's thing doer". it does the thing and nothing else and is available on a html website in plain text and takes up under a megabyte of space and uses default windows ui elements and will work until the heat death of the universe

to me, the judge's final words seemed like she went beyond what she needed to for the sake of being fair under the law. rape is hard to prove. so ok fine, they're acquitted (they shouldn't be and I think the system is broken, but fine) but the tone the judge took felt gross

If you think climate change has gotten worse during your lifetime, you're right and there's a good reason. If you're Gen X like me, more than 3/4 of fossil fuel CO₂ emissions have occurred in your lifetime. Even if you're a Millennial, it's at least half. 📊:

For decades the NRA and other gun nuts told us that their guns were to protect us all from a tyrannical government. So a tyrannical government is here, they are all sitting on their asses, and the people who want gun control have taken to the streets to defy the tyrannical government instead.

I guarantee you the focus of the last decade, and into the future, on STEM and trades, while downplaying the creation of a civic culture with people capable of critical thinking and governance skills, will prove ruinous.
