It's super easy from here to look at the US and scream YOU ARE SLEEPWALKING THROUGH 1930s GERMANY REDUX. Brits who do that should take a minute to read up about that period's obsessive transphobia, and cartoons like this in the national press.

India's electoral democracy has been cooked for a while, with the regime stirring the pot & adding the saffron. Today is a terrible milestone. 'Nearly 91 lakh voters were deleted... When juxtaposed with the final vote gap of just 12–13 lakh, the scale of deletion becomes politically consequential.'

India is like centuries away from coming close to where China is, let alone "overtaking" China. Yeah, go have a Proletarian Revolution first. And then a Cultural Revolution and maybe try getting rid of your caste system, and after fifteen 5-year plans, then you might stand a chance.

I remember working at a Dutch company that had some Indian developers who were hindutva to the core, and super anti Communist. They kept talking about "overtaking China", and how India would achieve that under BJP leadership, lol. Bruh, India doesn't even come close. Not at all, loool. 🤣😭

I regularly see people wondering how it's possible that there are so many musicians and writers and film makers and artists from a tiny nation like Iceland. And the answer is really simple: State funding for art education and artists. I literally get a salary from the government to write books.
