The Lucy Temerlin Institute for Broken Shapeshifters Guide to Starving Boys is about a certain kind of young man i often met in my youth. well-mannered, well-read, stoned, gentle, living in small rooms with a tv and nothing else, prone to vanish. wherever you are, i hope you are ok

from a poem i read in a magazine called india (1928)- a british couple have an indian cook. they catch him sticking his fingers in the food and using his undershirt to cover the cheese. so they put him in the oven and kill him. if you had a sense of humor, you would see that this is funny.

to those writers who don't have access to books, workshops, mentors, degrees and whatever else, my humble suggestion is to just write. you will learn and get better. it's not the easy way and you'll make all those extra mistakes self-taught people make. but it's possible and you can do it.

unsolicited writing advice- writing is a privilege. it's cool to talk about inspiration and whatever but the truth is that we write because we can. many, many people do not have the same agency to tell their stories. don't be a dick about it.
