Trans girls and women deserve to participate fully in society as themselves. These bans also impact black and brown cisgender and intersex women because of white supremacist standards of femininity. We at Stonewall DFL condemn this decision in Little v. Hecox.

See, people always want to make this just about "sports," but the real upshot here is that, 6-3, trans women can't make a claim under the Equal Protection Clause. And if they can't do that, it's hard to see how they have constitutional rights.

Magistrate Judge Scott Varholak ordered a bond hearing w/this note: "If the Court is wrong, let another court declare that a noncitizen with no criminal history, no history of flight, & an adjudicated right to asylum may be detained indefinitely without running afoul of the Due Process Clause."

There's a great deal that's alarming about the Prairieland sentencing, regardless of how one views the shooter, but the biggest deal is 30 years for a man who wasn't there, convicted of moving a box of zines while knowing protesters. Consider the implications.
