I came to Minneapolis to report on what's going on, and one of the main questions I showed up with is "just what is the scale of the resistance?" After all, we're all used to the news calling Portland a "war zone" or whatever when it's just some protests in one part of town.

Truly the best organizer is the boss. Without their horrible actions, hardly anyone would spend the time unionizing, but with their actions it becomes clear why a union is needed.

My take on the Jan 23 action in Minneapolis is that I don’t really care whether it’s a “true” general strike (we could argue about that all day). What DOES matter is that it’s a bold and necessary escalation, and local labor leaders are publicly encouraging workers to join in anti-ICE resistance

Someone told me a story tonight about how union stewards or communists (or both) would wear whistles into work and if the boss did anything untoward to any of the workers, one of them would blow their whistle and everyone would walk out until it was addressed properly.

I went climbing with a friend and comrade tonight and the whole time we talked about organizing. It was perfect and gave me so much energy for the coming months.
