I can't accept chalk worth more than 20 bucks from students. There is a student who offered some Hagamoro (ya' know... nice) chalk to another teacher at CSI and the Prof declined out of a worry it was too much. The ethics training said if it **looks** like a conflict of interest, it's unethical.

This remains one of the most unusual and ineffective policies I see as an economist, but it has the the upside of having a check in the mail, so it's not like I can't see the appeal. Like some hair of dog, I guess.

For veterans of the Eurozone crisis, this is quite incredible - today Greece has a lower borrowing cost than both the UK and the US for their 10 year bonds. I had to check, all of the previous so called 'PIIGS' (Portugal, Ireland, Italy, Greece, Spain) have lower borrowing costs than the US today.
