One really fascinating point here (among many) is that a peril of organic-looking PR is less that people will be tricked into liking a band, and more that some journalists can be suckered into treating people/phenomena as massively influential when they probably are not!

Also if you sign a PPO or employment agreement, watch out for non-negotiable language about them being able to seize personal devices if you bring them onsite. This is especially important for freelancers if you're guarding confidential information the company shouldn't have access to regardless.
