This is correct but it extends beyond pop-culture studies and feminism. If you study politics to any degree at all you at least need to know what Gamergate is and how it has shaped right wing politics in the Trump Era.

I have sympathy for people who detransition and find they’re stuck with gender dysphoria, but I’m also like… they were adults when they did anything permanent, and the fact that they regret that choice doesn’t mean they shouldn’t have been allowed to make it.

To be clear, cis people regret breast augmentation and nose jobs and all sorts of permanent elective procedures. The idea that the presence of any regret at all means that something shouldn't be done means that healthcare in general shouldn't be done.
