My unpopular position is that SWGE being fixed to a particular point in time and rigidly adhering to canon and diagetic music is good, actually; they just picked a really unfortunate time to fix it to and didn’t add enough diagetic music, characters, streetmosphere, droids, spacecraft, etc.

I guess it should’ve been obvious when they brought back the Russos & RDJ, but Doomsday trailers seem to signal that the MCU has abandoned any pretense of appealing to audiences on any basis other than gimmicky fan service. Also feels pretty desperate to spoil all these character reveals this early.

Mostly agree with this article but I’d add a couple caveats: 1) Dark Universe is technically “IP,” but it’s mostly reinventions of public domain stories & folklore that are centuries old. For all intents and purposes, it’s an original concept land with *very* loose ties to old Universal movies.
