Part of this was learning that Swift’s RangeSet is like, really really slow. Kind of shockingly because it’s in the stdlib now. I was able to get orders of magnitude faster insertion, union, and iteration performance by swapping to an array of ranges with some merging logic.

Oh another thing I did is this actually outperforms `String` and `Array` because it's backed by a copy-on-write b tree that guarantees O(log n) insert/remove operations Ran the automerge-perf suite with it and it runs the local document benchmark in 1.8s
