Can ChatGPT help analyse public health data? A new study by Swiss TPH explored this question through a randomised controlled trial with students and researchers, using ChatGPT to conduct an epidemiological data analysis as a tool or an addition to R/Stata.

Malaria still kills nearly 600,000 people every year – most of them young children in sub-Saharan Africa. At Swiss TPH, we work across the full value chain to change that: from basic research to clinical trials in the field.

Swiss TPH studied pesticide exposure in 206 children living near vineyards and orchards in Valais. All were found to be exposed. However, no short-term links to symptoms like coughing were found, but Swiss TPH issued recommendations to reduce exposure. Read more below⤵️

Congratulations to Galo A. Goig, who received the 2025 Swiss TB Award from the Swiss Foundation for Tuberculosis Research. The award recognises his pivotal research on the emergence and transmission of resistance to a newly recommended treatment for multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB).
