The autumn semester @unibas.ch is about to start and we are looking forward to welcoming 25 new PhD and 62 new MSc students at @swisstph.ch. About 1/2 of our students are from abroad, many from the Global South, creating a unique diverse atmosphere and many opportunities to learn from each other! 🌍🤗

In a landmark public health achievement, Papua New Guinea has been validated by WHO for eliminating #trachoma as a public health problem. Trachoma, a neglected tropical disease & the world’s leading infectious cause of blindness, no longer poses a public health threat in the country. bit.ly/43wbr8C

Abrupt funding freezes by the US government have a direct impact on health programmes in the Global South while the amount of money that is saved this way is barely noticeable in the budget. #usaid
