The secret is that other writers aren't competition; they're peers, colleagues and friends. Someone who reads me is going to read other writers as well; the entire publishing economy is "yes, and." Therefore it does me no harm, and much good, to support other writers and to wish them well.

Y'all, discoverability is harder than ever. With Twitter all but gone and publishing being --in a mood-- your favorite authors are floundering. We don't know how to reach our fans or find new readers. Telling someone about a book you love is a really big deal. That's the #1 reason people buy books!

Authors! Writing implement nerds! Come join me on a magical journey through my recent test of SIGNING PENS! SO! I started out using gold sharpies because that seemed like the standard. But they get dry really fast and they're thick & clunky! Recently I went on a quest to find a better signing pen.
