Can’t believe that in the new #avatar which is over 3 hours long a character comments multiple times about needing to pee. Have to admire the commitment to tormenting and tantalising an audience. (Movie also very pretty, I generally support fantasy interspecies romance.)

Rob Reiner was a good guy. He made a lot of movies about good guys, in worlds where not everyone was good and you didn’t have to be good. He made movies about people trying. He was angry, as many hopeful people are. He knew the world could be better and he wanted it to be. His death is devastating.

I grieve the passing of Rob Reiner & Michele. When death is under shocking circumstances, focus turns there, but directing Stand By Me, The Princess Bride, Misery, When Harry Met Sally, A Few Good Men is a legacy of humour that never loses drama, grounded by sincerity, which I always want art to do.
