For any elected official who needs to hear this, I impart a lesson learned from the NFL: When the other team is tired and on the back foot, you don’t call a timeout so they can catch their breath. You grind their fucking face into the dirt until the final whistle blows and you’ve won the game.

Do you understand they are weak and their violence comes from weakness? If we fight them together, if we link arms, if we say enough in one voice, they will crumble and we will be free to create something better, something we deserve. I’m begging. Please. See it. Know it.

The vibe shift today is, I think, due to the fact that New Yorkers were on the offensive instead of the defensive. Usually with protests, demonstrators have to defend the space, defend their right to march, etc. They get beat up and pushed around and antagonized into chaos and trauma. 1/

Reporters who fact-check Trump to his face are not “stupid”, they are not “piggies”, and they are not “ugly”. They are doing their jobs, and doing it under pressure most of us will never experience. We should be grateful for their service. I appreciate their courage now more than ever.
