Really digging this card-based Bluesky client, @anisota.net. It's so unique and minimal. Weird to get used to but now I can't stop using it. Worth checking out for sure!

and @dame.is made Leaflet posts readable in @anisota.net which is super cool speaking of, big shout out to Anisota as emblematic of the atproto spirit — great example of taking the bsky shortform experience in radically different creative directions, mixing the new + the familiar!

Great example of how devs can just make up new atproto records and use them in whatever way they want. Worth pointing out that some *other* dev could make an app that displays `app.bsky.feed.post` and `net.anisota.feed.post` in whatever way *they* want. The atproto network is radically open.

consuming social media without “scrolling” has proven to be incredibly beneficial to me ever since i started using early prototypes of @anisota.net several months ago it’s interesting how we’ve been conditioned by the last several decades of social + internet to think scrolling is all there is

yes, i will be integrating bluesky’s new simple bookmarking/saving into @anisota.net — probably next week? will make anisota’s robust post lists front and center, with bluesky’s as a simpler/private option for folks similar to how i’m handling anisota’s advanced muting system vs bluesky’s simple one

i love the way that @anisota.net doesn't show the engagement numbers upfront - i've learned at a glance what the icons means for rarity and how that often translates into the engagement levels

if you’re an @anisota.net member you can customize the app in tons of ways, including making it so that your “home screen” is the post composer rather than a feed — drop in, make a post, leave without getting distracted by scrolling content (this is my preferred setup)

thanks to the viral donkey photo, i was able to stress test the new notification system in @anisota.net and realize i wasn’t properly batching notifications when a single post received a ton of engagement — now it does that in addition to batching based on user (so-and-so liked 23 of your posts)

It’s quite interesting when I see @anisota.net described as gamification. Social media is already gamified, but the mechanisms are so enmeshed in its form you don’t realize it’s happening. I far prefer knowing how the game is played and, most importantly, having tools to slow or stop the game.
