The problem with AI (as currently being pushed within the tech industry) is the same as the tech industry as a whole: People (mostly white guys) want to be lauded for being excellent without actually doing the work to be excellent. They want to be seen as amazing while being mediocre.

In 1893 Chicago police arrested a man for murder, starved him for four days, then gave him a bottle of whiskey. Once he was drunk they gave him an âalibiâ form to sign. He was drunk and illiterate & didnât know he was signing a confession. He was hanged. This is pretty much how Broadview operates.

I canât over emphasize how Ross Douthatâs piece makes all women less safe. It incites more harassment and abuse of women in the workplace and beyond. Itâs incredibly irresponsible and frankly dangerous. And it was run by one of the most influential publications in the country.

Feminists have long been scared of looking mean, and as a result weâve been way too nice to antifeminist women. Sorry no, youâre not submissive, servile, and dependent because youâre a woman and thatâs just your feminine nature. Youâre submissive, servile, and dependent because you lack self respect.

When people talk about the excesses of MeToo, they have to lie, because the reality is that there was no massive social reckoning forcing people to believe survivors or hold perpetrators accountable. In fact, there has been a significant backsliding and new punishments in rejection of MeToo

Itâs really unnerving how people have decided having a Nazi tattoo is less self-evidently antisemitic than being a Muslim who supports a free Palestine. (Obviously, this isnât one person doing this, but more about the tenor and intensity of the discourse)

Speaking as a Jew, I'm pretty tired of the non-Jewish people in charge fabricating antisemitism in order to manipulatively get what they want, but when someone throws a Nazi salute at the inauguration or sports a Nazi tattoo for 20 years we're told to shut up because that isn't what they meant.
