UPDATE: Former "Broadview Six" defendant Brian Straw wants an order preserving emails, texts and other communication related to the grand jury proceedings. His attorneys write that they've "lost complete faith and confidence in this U.S. Attorney's Office to do the right thing on its own."

Attorneys for the 4 remaining "Broadview Six" defendants briefly addressed press today following a hearing in which federal prosecutors said they planned to dismiss the main felony conspiracy charge against defendants. "This has been a failure since the beginning," defense atty Chris Parente said.

In a new motion in the "Broadview 6" case, Brian Straw seeks context for text messages allegedly sent by the agent at its center. In one exchange, the agent is asked if he had a difficult time getting to Broadview's ICE facility. He allegedly replied, "Yeah, there was some trash in The street."

JUST IN: Defense attorneys for the remaining members of the "Broadview 6" say the agent they're accused of impeding texted about their indictment, reported their political positions to senior ICE officials after they were charged.

This is an effort to turn the Minnesota rapid responders into criminals. If Democrats make this deal, they will send me, and many others like me who have been out protecting the community, to jail.
