Broadview officials have launched a criminal investigation into reports that an ICE agent fired a projectile at a CBS News Chicago reporter. Broadview has been the site of protests against ICE. The reporter said at the time of the incident, there wasn't a active protest and she was alone.

The below post is from CBS Chicago reporter Asal Rezaei yesterday. It comes one day after Chicago journalist Steve Held was detained while covering a protest outside the Broadview immigration facility. Absolutely inexcusable attack perpetrated by an ICE thug. He should be fired immediately! 😡

I forgot to mention, I assume someone eventually realized that having a journalist inside for hours observing them was less than ideal so they taped bags up over every window in our cell so we couldn’t see out. At least not as well anyway, there are always gaps.

At 47th and Western. ICE just snatched a man outside Home Depot and then, while speeding away from the scene, nearly hit a 17 year old boy on a scooter on his way to school this morning. He's okay. He jumped off the scooter in time. Agents didn't check on him; they kept driving.
