It's amazing to me that last night we got: -More $$ for transit + avoid fiscal cliff -Eliminated parking minimums -RTA reform -CTA board reform -Transit agency development powers All in one bill!

Passing major legislation in the middle of the night is generally a bad way to do things, but it does occasionally work out well, like when you can pass statewide parking reform without anybody really noticing.

I am so immensely grateful for the women who have tirelessly led our transit coalition through seemingly endless negotiations and ups and downs — and ultimately to an utterly transformative and monumental victory. Amy Rynell, @awennink.bsky.social, Elaine Nekritz, and Jacky Grimshaw are heroes.
