There is no oversight of conditions at ICE’s Broadview facility. They denied Dem officials access. Other than stories from people who spent time there, there’s no visibility or transparency at all.

“Pelayo said her dad described being held in a room with at least 150 other men as ICE officers constantly yell at them and call them slurs. He also told his daughters detainees are only given food and water based on good behavior.” These are the conditions at the site of yesterday’s protest.

The Northwest Side Rapid Response Team posted this community alert a short while ago. It describes how a resident in Albany Park was lured by a phone call that indicated they had won a prize. Another was lured to an address to pick up scrap metal. Both were detained by ICE upon arrival.

ICE shot and killed a man in the Chicago suburbs last week. In the days since, we've seen a laundry list of escalating violent behavior from the feds: reckless driving, destroyed property, dawn raids, intimidation and threats against reporters, witnesses assaulted and threatened with pepper spray.
