One way to judge a society's investments is asking: "what kinds of people and relationships will this investment create?" Sit with this question. Investment in repressive bureaucracies has become so normalized that we are desensitized to how far away from the best parts of humanity it takes us.

Lotta folk saying FAMU should fight back & resist or whatever but FAMU & other HBCUs above all else need to Remain Open. That is their job right now. To remain open. Harvard should fight. Yale should fight. Ivy League schools with war chests rivaling small countries should fight. They fell first.

I admit to being confused by some of the discourse re: protest on here. Community defense and mutual aid can in fact be forms of protest. Definition of protest is: "a statement or action expressing disapproval of or objection to something." Community defense is an objection to something, for ex.

On the execution in Minnesota: Obviously, the individuals involved should be held accountable. But responsibility goes to the top of ICE and CBP, and DHS. Their appropriations come up next week in the senate. Not a cent for DHS without pulling ICE and CBP off the streets, in MN and everywhere else.

I just watched the shooting video. It's a horrific beating and execution in the middle of the street. If local and state officials don't move to arrest everyone involved for murder, they need to resign. Making arrests will de-escalate the situation. Do nothing and this is going to explode.

They literally pay taxes for services they can't draw from. Do you think undocumented immigrants have some "get out of sales tax free" card? Do you think they're exempt from property taxes? Do you think they don't have income and payroll taxes withheld from pay? If you think that, you're wrong.
