This is a sad and dangerous moment. Whatever you think about Comey, what is new and totally wrong is the White House directing criminal prosecutions. A few short years ago most Republicans would agree that was unacceptable, because it is. Now they’re too scared.

The only reason to remove the college degree requirement for FBI agents is to get more yes men. More people who follow Trump instead of the law and the evidence. Fewer willing to take on crypto schemes and other corruption in Trump world.

Trump is adding national guardsman and federal agents so that he can look at them, while places like York County, PA, that voted for him by 25 points, don't get anything. That's not how democracy is supposed to work.

Today took me to Lancaster PA where I caught up with State Senator James Andrew Malone. He won a district this year that had voted for Trump just months before. A good reminder to go everywhere, talk to everyone, invite everyone in.

I noticed today Senator Fetterman said he would “always vote Israel.” Just a note of caution to his new friends, he used to tell a different audience how he would “always” vote too and, well, we see how that turned out.

“I represented this area … it is … conservative, but I know the people … have a heart for the people that work hard …,” Lamb told me. “He’s a family man, a hard worker, just like they are. We should take a moment to consider … it’s really wrong how he’s being treated.”

Add this to the 9 largest insurance carriers in PA who all requested huge increases, the huge requested increase in electric power, and tariffs on things like semaglutides, vaccines, and metals, and our state is in for a very expensive 2026 courtesy of the Trump administration.

Right message for this week. The readings are uncannily on point: Abraham’s request to spare the innocent despite their proximity to the guilty, a Gospel about persistence in seeking food for the hungry. Thanks to the many who’ve been persistent, changes are starting to happen.
