Basic process breakdown: I block in the BG elements into vector shapes. After I build all the shapes, it leaves me with this weird colorful mosaic of pieces. Then I can select each piece and color it. Its kind of like Paint-By-Numbers. This only really works with a blocky shape style.

The fact that they let him stand like this and used it for the album cover is crazy.

Tons of research and experimenting went into developing the background style. I want it to feel like a mosaic of shapes and colors, but also a space you can walk into.
