It's kinda mindbending seeing so many people act like timed hits/defence being the invention of Clair Obscur, when it was THE cornerstone of the Mario RPG series starting back in 1996, and probably used in some earlier games too.

The prequel discourse wasn’t great but the community did what it did by building spaces for it (anyone remember the basher / gusher message board guidelines?) But there was no such tools for just how weird the algorithm-driven discourse would become a decade later when these movies came around.

One thing I never see business folks bring up about underperforming sales is the fact that no one in their target audiences has any money anymore. It just doesn't even register as a possibility for the C suites.

the problem with ai art isn't that it "looks bad". real artists are also bad for a while before they're good. "ai art looks like shit", who cares. "good ai art" is still fucked and gross. we should be more thankful and encouraging to beginners in the arts if we really care about lessening ai use
