Regarding game design video essay stuff: I have always felt the most valuable video essays to me as a person who makes games have two key qualities. A: They are opinionated B: They talk about specific games and how they reinforce those opinions. (The point is the good example and not the bad one)

You should use common sense, but you should also sell your work for how much YOU think it's worth.
