I don't know who this might help, but I find color much easier to work with when you think of it as the numbers they represent.

Note for future projects. Get a barebones 'photomode' implemented ASAP. It's really useful.

The main point of Clover's game mechanics is that she can hot swap body parts mid dungeon. Your limbs are your pokemon team, and you capture them by ripping them off enemies. I really need to try getting wild with the limb designs. Going with some more angular line work on this one. #CherubArt

Fish! The little Fishies are back and more efficient than ever. Same exact tech as the Scrap from yesterday. Just a different shader and overlap animation. Thousands can be on screen and have almost no fps cost. Swank. (The OBS encoder HATES them though.) #CherubDev #UE5

so I've been working again on Abyssal Fugue— concept is a fluid, expressive, acrobatic platformer mixing in melee combat, largely aerial "soulsickness" is the key word, thematically / aesthetically set in a metaphysically distorted space, mixing classic / medieval themes and sci-fi

I wanted to see if it could, and yes. Runs at 45fps on steam deck at high settings. Mind you it's the preGAS version. Maybe some day I'll have actual environment art, and then we'll see how that holds up. (I'm still not convinced I'll ever ship it, but it's fun to do.) #CherubDev #UE5 #SteamDeck

So I rebuilt the collection mechanic in GAS. I am shocked at how much simpler it was using this method. And the vfx is sooo much cheaper too since I was able to make the strings a single system now. Next to actually make Scrap(🔩) and Energy(🐟) do things as well as their art. #CherubDev #UE5

Hacking framework done(ish) Basically a way of doing 'spells'. Can be used to apply game effects or just damage eventually. (Like shutting down weapons. Overheating. Debuffs. Explosions.) Mostly, the Ears Weapon Slot is for 'Casting'. Clover uses the ears to broadcast, I guess. #CherubDev #UE5

New body parts dropped. Lore bits; There's been a couple generations of cybernetics. Lucky is of the old kind. Generation 2. Easily recognizable for their ball joints. As such, slang for that gen is probably like "doll kit" or "toy grade". This kit is created by Lucky converting scrap into limbs.

Needs refined and some camera work, but the parry system is rebuilt now in GAS. A buff is given to the player at the start of an attack. When damage is calc'd, if the buff matches the dmg type, the dmg is ignored and a parry ability plays. #CherubDev #UE5

Just pondering how many man hours have been spent making functionally identical photo real rocks and trees across games.

Projectile based attacks working again, now with GAS. Configurable firerate, accuracy, bounce, punchthrough, and multishot. Ever since BL2's Gaige, I've wanted to be able to have that stupid accuracy be an option in something I made. I think that will do for now. #CherubDev #UE5
