I felt compelled to commission the massively underrated Excella Gionne (Resident Evil 5) from @inkuusan.bsky.social after spending hours playing as her in Mercenaries.

Just read through issue #85 of IDW Sonic and it has me wanting the next issue! This upped the sense of mystery and it was nice seeing Belle and Sage bond to some degree. I really hope this new villain lives up to the hype when they’re finally revealed.

I finally beat the 2009 Bionic Commando which was a game I was always sort of interested in for its 3D swinging gameplay. That element was fun (though a little janky) but combat wasn't all that great. Mike Patton from Faith No More plays Rad Spencer and his delivery is hilarious!

Read through the Sonic Crossworlds tie-in comic. It was a fun time, nothing crazy, but it was interesting to see them address a bunch of reasons for why they have to stay in their cars and can’t use their normal abilities during these races.

Watched another Yūsaku Matsuda thriller from the same director called The Resurrection of the Golden Wolf. It's about a skilled criminal outplaying everyone else in the story while leading a double life as a bumbling salaryman. Great setup and ending but bloated in the middle.

Just watched The Beast to Die (1980) which is the first movie I've seen with Yūsaku Matsuda. It was a really powerful first exposure for him which really showed his range. The visuals for this were really clean with some very tense and uncomfortable scenes.

Thinking about how everyone hated “Sonic’s friends” in the 2000s but now it feels like people have so much love for even the most obscure characters that’ve barely appeared in the games. It probably has to do with the voice acting or not giving them enough to do in the past.

Batman was always the superhero I fucked with the most, even before I considered myself a comic fan. It must have been growing up with the Nolan films and Arkham games. It’s so awesome to be a Sonic fan and see Shadow and Rouge crossover with Batman’s sphere of all things!

Replayed Lost in Nightmares in RE5. I still don't think it's that great of an expansion, but the aesthetics are great. With the classic easter egg, these environments look as good as some of the pre-rendered stuff from the GameCube era of the series but in real-time.

Just beat RE5 for the first time on PC. I enjoyed it a lot more than I did previously, though there are still some sections that are a drag. The game still has amazing aesthetics and I love some of the bosses that feel like they could be from MGS.

Tangle and Whisper’s voices sound great! They’re pretty much exactly how I imagined them. Now I really wanna know what Surge is gonna actually sound like.

Just read through issue #84 of IDW Sonic and it was really solid. There’s a decent mystery being setup and I like the dynamic between Belle and Sage. I’m hoping we see some development for Metal Sonic and he isn’t just a tool being used by a new villain.

Seeing that Yakuza 3 retconned Mine ending was real.

Learned how to mod photo mode into Street Fighter 6... this is an essential feature.

Just replayed RE4 on Wii. Tons of iconic visuals from locations to enemy designs. I think people exaggerate how little horror there is in here, but the story is very "stream of consciousness". You gotta respect how well it came together regardless of its trouble development.

Just beat Mega Man 7! Pretty much what you’d expect from the classic style in 16-bit. Cool backgrounds and boss designs. I wouldn’t say this is anything groundbreaking for the series, but it was well executed. Final boss was tough too.

Kinda random, but I beat Black Ops 1 since people always hyped it up as one of the best ones. I think it had great aesthetics and I'd probably enjoy it even more on a second run. It's impressive how much bonus content there is. It seems like the devs had a ton of fun making this.

I hate to rub salt in the wounds over this whole Kiwami 3 thing, but I can't help but laugh. I tried to voice concerns over the downgrades of Kiwami 2 nearly a decade ago, urging people to play the original, but I was jumped by so many people and called a "gatekeeper"--

just because I wasn't okay with them reducing the excellent Yakuza 2 to a cheap inferior product. The complacency some of you fans showed out of fear of scaring away new players after the newfound success of Yakuza 0 caused this downward trend of quality.

Beat Sonic Superstars the other day. It was a fun enough time. It’s way more cutesy than the classic games it’s stylized after, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing since it serves as a reprieve from the mainline titles. Full of gimmicks but way better than Sonic 4.
