Portland voters should ALSO be aware that @councilordanryan.bsky.social, @councilorzimmerman.bsky.social, Councilor Steve Novick, and @councilorclark.bsky.social were the 4 city councilors who voted AGAINST the proposed & adopted oversight that (so far) has uncovered $106 Million in unspent funds.

Agreed! An investigative hearing should be held, and Former City of Portland Administrator, Michael Jordon should absolutely be deposed. As should Deputy City Administrator, Donnie Oliveira, and any other city administrators who had knowledge of these available funds, but didn’t disclose. Minimum.

At the City Club event last night a room of about 150 people, majority white, majority middle aged, clapped when I said if the police legally can’t protect us against federal agents they shouldn’t get more money.

Can’t wait for @schumer.senate.gov to bungle this opportunity to free Americans of the tyranny of Trump and Miller’s DHS. If the Democratic Party really wanted to change anything they could unify across states in a very powerful coalition. They could come together in solidarity in Congress and vote together in unison like their counterparts. There are many ways for them to create an opposition.. they choose not to.

I do actually want to know the names of all who screwed up. Accountants, auditors, everyone who is responsible for "losing track" of these dollars. Not to crucify those people, but to hold them accountable. Can you give us a good reason not to disclose this information?

This account from someone a few blocks away really gets at the sudden escalation. This was a family outing to a park on a relatively warm Sunday afternoon — kids on bikes, the family meeting up with grandma. Now you have to explain tear gas and police brutality to your 8-year-old.
