The Ross Island Archipelago is home to beaver, native red squirrel, and eagles. There is a proposal to fill the Ross Island Lagoon with contaminated soil and there’s a community meeting on Monday, April 13th at 6PM to discuss this disposal plan. The link to register is in my bio.

The judge seems skeptical of the proponents of the initiative to divert 25% of PCEF to police. He has narrowed in on the idea that the initiative was purposefully targeted at PCEF (as opposed to the arts tax or general fund dollars) for political reasons.

The judge asked the attorney for the original petitioners (those in favor of using PCEF for police) why they chose to target this program instead of something else. He said it seems like they’re saying “we want police here and we don’t like this fund and we want to kill two birds with one stone”

On Saturday, January 31st over 30 Unions gather in Portland to demand ICE get out of our community. ICE responded by deploying chemical w3apons on Union Workers, Families, and Children. ICE agents must be held accountable and prosecuted!

Our statement on today's Labor Says ICE OUT rally and the brutal gassing of unionists, families and children by federal forces.

I just got tear gassed along with thousands of union members, many of whom had their families with them. Federal agents at the ICE facility tear gassed children. We must abolish ICE, DHS, and we must have prosecutions. I expect to see enforcement of our city code prohibiting the use of tear gas.

A large protest, dubbed “Labor Against ICE,” is expected to start near the Immigration and Customs Enforcement building in Portland on Saturday. At least 30 unions endorsed the protest and planned to attend in some fashion.

ICE out of Portland! ICE out of our communities! President Trump and Kristi Noem should be impeached, convicted and thrown out of office! I will stand up to fascism whenever and wherever it occurs. Portland deserves nothing less.

ICE needs to be taken apart, brick by brick, and we need to salt the earth.

Zenith moves their bomb trains through our city and uses us only as a terminal for their global operations. We carry all of the risk and get none of the economic benefits. Zenith is not a good neighbor and they don’t belong in Portland. DEQ granting this permit is a step in the wrong direction.

An ICE agent in a Tan Cadillac DeVille was seen leaving the ICE Facility at the South Waterfront earlier today. Be aware of this vehicle and person. Let’s get these domestic terrorists out of our city.
