If you want to know why both corporate Democrats and Republicans are freaking out about DSA on the TV, this is why. Weâve been living under a 50 year lie that good things are not possible in our politics and it only took six months in a major American city to show that it was a bipartisan scam.

The people saying we donât have money and need to raid the 82% voter-approved community board for police accountability are same people who want to throw $120 million of our money at a Texas billionaire for MODA center with no discussion or vote by the public. Absolutely shameful.

the people who are doing the police oversight know that this move is meant to make it less effective. The mod-squad (mid-squad) is trying to damage police accountability on the orders of the police union.

There are political barriers in Portland and Oregon that can be overcome if enough voters want change and government that actually works for them. If you leave it to the centrists youâll get more of the same: a declining quality of life and collapsing infrastructure while the rich get richer.

Sometimes people ask why DSA councilors in Portland canât do what Mamdani is doing and part of that is that he has executive power as the Mayor. You need a progressive Mayor with a progressive legislative body (the city council) to make big change. Letâs use the rent freeze as an example âŹď¸

There are now two competing ordinances to restore services after Portland's budget. One of them once again proposes taking money from police accountability. Ours doesn't. That isn't the only option. It's a choice. Watch the video to hear why I think Portlanders should be paying close attention.
