I waited until my thirties to come out of the closet and had to undergo serious surgery to reshape my chest. I spent years battling anxiety that I didn't realize was actually gender dysphoria. My 20s could have been wildly different (and better) had I had access and safety to transition younger.

Today was very much a “my feets is tired, but my soul is rested” sort of day.

Federal agents caused multiple injuries and deployed tear gas multiple times. The agencies that had a confirmed presence are: FBI, ICE, DEA, and HSI. Federal agents were seen with “police vests” but we have confirmation that SPPD and the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office were not involved or present.

Update as of 10:55 AM: Federal agents have left the Territorial/Hampden location. Mayor Carter and I are on site. We have heard reports of several individuals that have been taken by the federal government. At least one person was arrested.

Found out this morning that the night of the shooting, when they were macing homeless people to keep them away from their tents and forcibly removing people, one of the encampment residents lost her child's cremains. The cruelty is unfathomable.

The encampments that our city has seen are a reflection of our leadership’s failing to adequately care for our neighbors. The folks living in encampments are human beings who are hit by the worst of our city’s crises: hunger, housing instability, mental and chemical health issues, and violence. 1/
