Cars in cities are an invasive species. When you don't solidify infrastructure to protect the integrity of active mobility, it will be hampered by multi-ton vehicles driven by entitlement to space.

Love being rewarded for getting out there and shoveling crosswalks early with plows coming by an hour later pushing snow back into them so the cars don't get scared.

They actually did really well, even getting out of the UTVs and using a shovel to clean bus stops. Maybe the recent Facebook dustup sharpened the focus. Unfortunately, the obsession with cleaning every square inch means they shoved piles of leaves and ice on to sidewalks and crosswalks overnight.

Freeways through cities are subsidizing people who choose to live a long ways from the places they need to go, but in a way that puts almost the entirety of the negative impacts on the places the freeway goes through. Good to see WisDOT finally having to confront that reality in their silly plans.

So fucking tired of homicidal drivers passing me in a double-yellow, in a school zone, while I’m doing 17mph and the speed limit is 15mph (kids everywhere) on a snowy, windy day. Pretty sure they were annoyed that I let kids cross at the crosswalk just before. Maniacs.

It’s quite an experience to have an elected official tell you “I can’t see bicyclists” then moments later describe to you a list of bikers they saw roll through a stop sign. So, if you want to be visible, it’s imperative to use the Idaho stop, you’ll never be missed.
