It's wild that people just say random things online as if it's fact. The claim here is this expansion of a business park is good because it will create more tax base than a residential neighborhood and that business parks have less emergency calls than residential land uses.

The SW commuter path is 760 ft away from Regent Street (51"). At 25 mph, a similar oarallel route for drivers would be about 1,800 ft away. If parallel routes becomes an issue for bike facilities, answering the question of how far is too far and what makes a good parallel route is necessary.

I've been tracking many of my trips on the Route A BRT line in Madison since opening. Recently in an effort to try and figure out some performance metrics I came across some interesting datapoints from signal delay, stop delay, percent of signals stopped at...and also alignment.

Tracked my ride in this morning. I've measured an average of 35" signal delay here on previous rides. We had 5" and reviewing yesterday's runs we averaged 17". But uh, 56% of signal delay from 4 state signals! 😬

Reading the latest Urban Bikeway Design Guide and came across this paragraph. The idea of counting people well outside the crossing is consistent with the "network" warrant that seeks to concentrate vehicle crossings...just for people outside vehicles.

I rode the 94 in from the @amtrak.com Union Station in St. Paul, riding the Green Line back. It is certainly a more comfortable ride, but also a longer one. But hey, amazing to have choices!

I need to hear from people in Grand Rapids...was the opening event at the Amphitheater a disaster because theres not a parking garage right next door and people would have to walk a half mile?

I feel a bit like a mad scientist here, but you realize this means you can pretty much add TSP anywhere? Replace loops with new non-intrusive detection that has vehicle classification abilities and its just a matter of political will. Let's make every route a BRT route!
