Years ago, a roommate and I saw a young girl putting up 'lost kitten' signs in our neighborhood. My roommate said that the girl needed to learn responsibility; I went back and helped the girl and her dad find the kitten. My roommate became a cop; I went into social work. I think about this a lot.
