I deleted all algorithm-first social apps from my phone this week, including YouTube. That leaves only BlueSky, whose default feed remains a chronological feed of accounts I follow. It’s been refreshing. There’s a clear end point, when I’ve caught up, and can comfortably close it. This app rocks.

I voted for a mayor that acknowledges the tragedy of these events and will work tirelessly to make them occur less frequently. My heart breaks for Allie and her family. I’m glad that Katie is doing what she can to bring justice.

Yes, the Sound Transit wayfinding is terrible. But I keep seeing that cardinal directions shouldn’t be used either, and I disagree. NYC stations use “uptown/downtown” essentially like cardinal directions and that’s pretty well understood.

One of the biggest drivers of high housing costs is that a small, highly motivated group of incumbent homeowners block new housing in their neighborhoods and almost no one is organized to push back. Young people bear the brunt of that imbalance. Be a housing fan.
