Sam Peckinpah’s Straw Dogs is one of my favourite films of all time, it is also an admittedly problematic and undeniably controversial work so it makes sense that @scottmurphy.bsky.social and myself needed two and a half hours to even begin unpacking it.

Due to it's polarising nature this was a difficult one to tackle but hopefully I did this great but frequently troubling and, at times, deeply problematic movie justice. Luckily, I had the excellent @liamhdempsey.bsky.social alongside me to tackle this one and I think it came out pretty well.

Not one I had seen before but very interesting deep diving in to the troubled shoot and equally troubled post-production of this one. Also, while divisive, I really like Richard Harris's performance here and I think he steals the film.

We've landed on the shores of Blue Sky, fresh from the hell of X. Hello hello everyone.

This was a really fun episode to record and it was also a delight seeing this awesome movie for the first time ahead of recording this. I really deep dived into this one too as well as reading articles, the Wiki and IMD page and the usual I also listened to an audiobook about the making of the film.

This was very cool as not only did I get to fill an egregious gap in my action knowlegde with this first time watch but I also got to have a very fun pod coversation with a fellow action nerd (and fellow Scott!). I recommend you gie it a listen.
