Always kind of amazed at the hubris grad students show when they talk to me, look me in the eye, fail to add the proper honourifics before and after my name, etc. Do they think we are equals? Does the PhD mean nothing to them? We have hierarchy in academia for a reason you know.

Woke up with sore feet but all well worth it. We poured our hearts into this one and it feels so good to see the result. So proud of the work we did and optimistic about where we are going in our neighborhood and the work Emma will do. Plus turquoise really was the best of the colours out there.

Did some leafleting for @emmaewood.bsky.social in Elmwood. Every time I do leafleting, I am reminded of how hard postal workers work. And I just had the one leaflet to pass out - not stacks of sorted mail.

Today is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. This day honours and remembers the children who were forced into Canada's Residential School system. It was first observed as Orange Shirt Day in 2013 and was elevated to a statutory holidy for federal workers in 2021.
