The boat was split in half. 9 men were dead. 2 more clung to a floating piece of wreckage and tried desperately to flip it over for 41 minutes straight. There was no possible way they were going anywhere. Then they were killed in cold blood by the U.S. military.

I guess this is a nuance I hadn't realized before: the two survivors were clinging to an overturned hull, trying to right it, when the US fired more missiles and blew them to pieces.

President Hernandez was responsible for smuggling 500 TONS of cocaine into the United States! He was the top dog; the Pablo Escobar figure! He wasn’t just “selling drugs in that country.”

Rep. Mike Turner on the double strike to comply with Hegseth's orders: "If that occurred, that would be very serious and I agree that would be an illegal act…This is completely outside of anything that has been discussed with Congress and there is an ongoing investigation."

Senator Kelly is correct. Plus a Public Service Announcement: KEY section of Department of Defense's Law of War Manual is 18.3.2.1. The VERY rule on the "requirement" to refuse illegal orders gives as its paradigmatic example of what is "clearly illegal: "orders to fire upon the shipwrecked."

This rhetoric is indistinguishable from the stuff you hear coming out of white nationalists. Completely identical language.

Trump makes the outrageous claim that “most” immigrants, which include over 25 million U.S. citizens, “are on welfare, from failed nations, or from prisons, mental institutions, gangs, or drug cartels.” As insulting as the “deplorables” comment, and on Thanksgiving day no less.
