tbf, the criticism of MJ lacking agency was specifically about how Ewing writes her in his Venom run, not her general history. So he's conflating criticism of her killing Torment with criticism of when he writes her as a more passive host.

Criticizing a lack of agency is not mutually exclusive from not liking if Mary Jane killed someone. This response treats two different criticisms as though they're hypocritical. This sounds like exaggerating the criticism into an unreasonable form, then attacking those strawmen.
