this time around for Diane Keaton’s sake but sheesh what a clunky movie (which is what I thought when I saw it in the theatre).

Democratic members of Congress are not bound by oaths to protect sources/congregants/patients like journalists, priests, and doctors are. If your GOP colleagues are saying privately that they decry what ICE or Trump is doing, time to name names.

It’s the 122nd anniversary of Cary Grant’s birthday so I’m obligated to share Mel Brooks’s beloved Cary Grant story. I don’t think there’s a chat show that he hasn’t told it on but my first and favourite was on Clive James.

Watched Criterion Nordic Noir Hidden in the Fog (1943) and that is one nutty hospital. A mix of Laura (which is deliberate) plus glints of Angel Face, Gaslight and characters who seemed modeled on Dracula and the Baroness from The Sound of Music. Good fun.

The Batman tv show is 60. Adam West should have got an Emmy for this scene alone. I love DeNiro, Washington, Day-Lewis etc but none of them have had an acting challenge like this.

Just watched Sliding Doors on Criterion and wow it’s not very good, is it? It doesn’t even reach the Hallmark holiday movie bar. How could a mediocre 90s rom-com have such a cultural impact? 🤷♀️
