Trying to get the Raspberry Pi GPIO & I2C capabilities to work inside a container has been a “fun” exercise that I’m still failing at. If youre reading this and have expertise or an example, hit me up PLZ 😭.

With .NET aspire is there a way to force sub-dependencies of containers to only startup when their parents are started? For example, the Aspire Azure Service Bus container requires azure-sql-edge internally. When I place WithExplicitStart on the ServiceBus resource, the edge container still starts.

I miss when social media (and the internet in general) had content that its creators thought was actually interesting. The trying-to-grab-attention low-effort content just to game algorithms is so tiring.

There’s many days that are stuffed full of joy in my life recently. It reminds me of a quote by Andy Bernard from The Office - “I wish there was a way to know you're in the good old days before you've actually left them”. I wish these good days to never end.

Gatekeeping development behind using AI is the most backward-ass thing I’ve seen in a while. GitHub’s CEO should be ashamed and fired for such a stance. Simply put, software development is for anyone who has a computer and a curiosity to create.

Once again: LLMs are word-association algorithms. They are incapable of grokking that the words they parse correspond to actual objects & phenomena outside of their own algorithms. To an LLM, its statements depend not on facts but on how often words occur together in the material the're trained on.

Are there any examples of worker services with
#dotnet
#aspire
? I’m hoping to run the worker service multiple times thru the dashboard with different runtime or configuration parameters. I have a modular monolith worker service so the parameters completely change the behavior.

One can choose to do science or choose to do politics. If you choose science then you speak what you think is true, regardless of how cynical political actors may use it. That’s the job. One can also do politics, but then you’ve given up doing science. (Yes yes, Weber said it better)

I'll be the broken record: Copy pasting blindly from your favorite LLM ain't great for learning. Juniors often trust AI-generated answers too quickly, which can cut out a lot of the actual learning opportunity! The part where you need to: - Make mistakes - Get stuck - Then get unstuck.

If you’re doing tests and still relying on mocks or manual setup, this is worth a look. It lets you spin up SQL Server, Azure Storage, CosmosDb, etc. in containers during your test runs or during local dev.
