Wes Streeting using his Labour conference speech to attack Reform for being anti-science. "Anti science, anti reason, anti-health" says the man who backs quack science when it comes to trans people.

We are at Labour conference, telling members about the impact of the proposed bathroom ban. It would devastate trans people’s lives, create unworkable business challenges, and alienate voters. This would be Labour’s legacy on LGBT+ rights for a generation. But it’s not too late for them to stop it.

"A choice between decency and division," Starmer will warble. As he sits atop a government that's determined to attack trans people and introduce a turbo-charged version of Section 28. And that's before we even get on to "island of strangers" and the other bollocks.

"We can unite around a common good"? Your government can barely go 24 hours without batting your eyes at racists. We'll unite around a common good come the next local elections. You might not like how that goes.

"Not taking a penny in benefits" if you're on a visa you have no recourse to public funds. do you think you could ask her which benefits visa holders are entitled to? "being in work" work is not a requirement of entry for spouse & student visas. again: do you think you should ask about this?

i was a member of labour from 2006-2023. i didn't switch to the greens bcos you were 'squeamish' about attacking them. i switched bcos labour lurched right and adopted a whole bunch of bigoted positions on trans rights based on far right conspiracies.

There is a fallacious belief, endemic to mainstream liberal political commentary and thought, that 'centrism' is necessarily antithetical to 'fanaticism'. Fortunately, that fallacy is finally beginning to be identified and confronted.

Keir Starmer comments about Reform are no more sincere than Wes Streeting saying trans people should be treated with 'respect and dignity'. They are words meant for Labour supporters who don't really care about either 'issue' but want some nice things to point to. Their actions tell you everything

Starmer on Kuenssberg was defending that old story about buying a field for his mum so she could see her rescue donkeys and I've never mocked that coz it's a nothingburger and I like donkeys too. But he said "WE'RE TALKING ABOUT 20 GRAND HERE HA HA" like that's nothing. WHAT a terrible look m8.

Which they are. They were as soon as Farage uttered them over a week ago. That's taken them this long to decide whether it politically expedient or not to refute them speaks to the moral vacuum of this man and his government.
