Motherfuckers. "If passed Bill 9, would shield the laws from sections 2 and 7 through 15 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms for 5 years. It would also suspend the application of the Alberta Bill of Rights and the Alberta Human Rights Act to the laws in perpetuity."

We in Canada may be tempted to look away, to be glad California is far away, but this is happening on our doorstep and in a country to whom we are tied in trade, security & culture. We should be paying attention.

Hey, Alberta? Can we stop voting for the kind of ghouls who think this is appropriate? This isn’t protecting kids. It’s doing the very opposite.

I’m in an ongoing situation with a pair of local ravens who alternate between stealing eggs from our pet ducks and observing us from the top of this nearby tree. I want to tap into this potential partnership somehow, but I think the ravens actually literally and figuratively look down on me.

3 years ago, a serial killer claimed four lives of First Nations women in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Today, one of the victims was finally named. To honor her memory, the Premier of Manitoba sang a traditional First Nations song. Fucking gut-wrenching.

For those of you just learning about Canada: Carney was sworn in as PM on March 14. Traditionally, PM's first visit is the US. Every time. Except this time, Carney said fuck that and went to France. 🤣 He hasn't even had a phone call with Trump.

I made this Pride flag using only NASA images and our team thought it would be cool to share on social (I work on the NASA heliophysics communications team), but it's getting all sorts of hate on the bird app and Fbook. Thought y'all might be more appreciative of it here. ☺️🏳️🌈💖
