The UCP said they would respect the findings of the independent Boundaries Commission ... until they didn't like the results. Now, they're ignoring the experts, who consulted with thousands of Albertans, to push through a map that would steal your vote and rig the election.

Today, Danielle Smith and the UCP caucus unveiled plans to rig the next election: A new motion indicates the UCP's plans to manipulate the election maps for the next election in their favour, and without any requirement to consult the public. This has never been done in Canadian history. /1

It’s critical that everyday Albertans, and proud Canadians, stand up to Danielle Smith and reject separatism.

Albertans are in a cost of living crisis. 1 in 3 households in Calgary can’t put food on the table. For weeks, Alberta’s New Democrats have been calling on Danielle Smith and the UCP to drop the provincial gas tax. They’ve refused.

The Premier had no problem changing legislation to help out the separatists, but won't lift a finger to help Albertans with the cost-of-living crisis. The UCP government has the opportunity to give Albertans a break, but they'd rather help themselves.

The UCP would rather use the windfall from elevated oil prices to cover up their massive deficit than give Albertans a break from the cost-of-living crisis.

Bill 29, introduced today, is another attempt by Danielle Smith and the UCP to further privatize health care in Alberta and create a two-tier system, where some people can skip the line for diagnostic services while others are left waiting as the public system continues to struggle.

An independent commission did its job and delivered fair electoral maps. But Danielle Smith and the UCP want to ignore them and redraw the map. They think they need to cheat to win. The government should accept those maps, without question. Don’t let them take your vote and your voice.
