For children walking or cycling to school, "outside the school" is the least dangerous part of their journey. Children need 20mph limit protection on the whole of their home to school route. 20mph "just outside schools" contemptuously disregards duty of care on child mobility

Why do people drive? TTC bus - wait 20 minutes for it to arrive and another 23 minutes for it to move?! I was spoiled by connections this morning to travel 8km which would take me 30 minutes if roads clear & safe #torontottc

Bike-lanes don’t cause traffic congestion. Car dependency, dumb land-use sprawl, too many (& bigger) cars being driven too much taking up too much space, highly subsidized driving costs, and not enough choices in how to get around, ALL cause traffic congestion. Think about it. THAT’S common sense.

It wasn't pretty, but we did it! We were in danger of losing quorum at IEC by the time the cycling item was up, and risk punting the vote to Feb. Instead we got through deputations, and the staff report including all 20 km of bike lanes with no amendments will be considered at Council on Dec 16!

I've never seen anything like it, but great to see everyone pulling together to get this done, and move it forward! Almost everyone present was in favour of the plan, which included 6km of bikeways on Kingston Road.

The plan being debated at the Infrastructure & Environment is a good one, but time was running out. The Chair, Councillor Colle, moved things forward energetically.

WOW, with Bike Plan on verge of dying on order paper, 50 cycling advocates give up their turn to speak (after 7hr wait) to ensure the plan for 20km of new bikeways moves forward to council. Great teamwork!! #biketo
