Thinking of including a little extra in my Christmas cards this year. A script people can use to call their govt reps to ask them to stop arming countries that are trying to wipe people off the map. Maybe even look up the phone number based on their address to make it easier. Peace on Earth.

This flew under the radar, but Trump revoked a minimum wage hike for companies that contract with the government. An estimated 390,000 workers will now see significant pay cuts. It's not surprising that Trump's populism is fake, but it's hardly ever been more clear.

As Trump tries to dismantle the Department of Education, remember that his plan to cut the corporate tax rate to 15% would give the 100 largest corporations a tax cut larger than the entire department's K-12 budget. Really think about how twisted this all is.

Trump’s Own Pollster Just Hit Him with Very Bad News—and a Warning
A poll of swing-district voters is already showing heaps of warning signs for Republicans bent on helping billionaires. That was fast.

Trump's latest executive order puts independent agencies — including the FTC, SEC, and NLRB — under his direct control. It's a blatant attempt to shield his corporate donors and his own business from agencies that hold the powerful accountable. This is an alarming power-grab.

Remember: The fundamental issue isn’t the size of the government or how to make government more “efficient.” It’s who our government is for. Should it work mainly for big corporations and billionaires, including the richest person in the world — or for the rest of us?

My wife and I used to watch Castle and there’s this one episode we always quote to each other. Castle was meeting up with an old friend who he hadn’t seen for a while, who said, “Rick, I had a bad year. *takes a deep, mournful breath* I joined Al qaeda.”
