Posed the question to COC do people trust the Soc Dems more on social issues than SF. He said that people know what SDs stand for and the same can't really be said for SF these days. I only ever meet Cian at counts and each time, we have this chat about SD winning over socially progessive voters

Quick talk with Cian O'Callaghan and he said within the last week of the campaign, the Soc Dems were doing really well in Cabra, and that was a sign to them they might top the poll as that is historically SF's turf. Also said picking Ennis early was a key factor

Fianna Fáil not getting deposit back in Dublin Central has shades of when they wiped out in Dublin Bay South in 2021. In 2021, Jim O'Callaghan was the director of elections, Darragh O'Brien had the job this time. Jack Chambers had the job for Jim Gavin. All would-be FF leader contenders..

Is seems that SF are becoming the new FF. The conservative/reactionary vote they're courting has stayed where it is and the left progressive vote they used to court is going to the social democrats. By the time they get to power it'll be just the same tired old politics we've had for a century.

Boylan on 18% when the poll had her on 21% and SF got 23.3% in the last GE - that alarming for the largest opposition party. Aontú showing they are a complete non-factor in Dublin is a bright spot, personally.
