I spoke today about recent political violence, and where it has come from. We need to change the way social media works if we're to preserve democracy - secretive algorithms are placing misinformation and provocative material in front of young and vulnerable people, and society is the loser.

The Green Party is ready to rebuild. Recent Government backsliding on climate, as well as the progression of trade deals like Mercosur in the EU, show the need for elected Green voices at all levels. We will be ready to win back more seats in the EP and Dáil when the time comes.

Over the summer, pollution has entered the Tolka at the Mill Road bridge, by a stormwater drain. At my request, @fingal.ie used remote cameras to inspect the drain network and believe they know the source. Hopefully this will end this pollution, but I’ll be keeping an eye on this location.

Joined the Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Ireland group today in Castleknock Community Centre. The recent extra building that the Community Centre acquired has meant that SBH Ireland are now able to use this location as a base for their services.

Yesterday I joined Jigsaw D15 to honour some of their amazing Youth Advocate volunteers. Jigsaw is an amazing service that offers targeted mental health interventions to young people, here in Dublin West and at its services all over the country.

The DFA officials at the Oireachtas Committee hearing this week were clear - to abide by the ICJ ruling, we must include goods AND services in the OTB. Furthermore, officials also noted that the exclusion of services would weaken the Bill's ability to stand up to scrutiny in the European Courts.

Budapest Mayor Gergely Karácsony has bravely stood up against Viktor Orbán's government and supported the organisers of Budapest Pride. Many of the events taking place this weekend are being hosted by his office. And he's a Green too 😊

A brief update ahead of tomorrow's Budapest Pride. While the parade itself is banned, we learned that up to 4 counter-marches have been granted licences and will take place along the route.
