No shame. No accountability. Irish civilians detained after being seized in international waters are now being used as political props by Israel’s far-right Government. What we’re witnessing is performative cruelty - propaganda in advance of potential elections in Israel.

These peace activists were kidnapped in international waters and are now being used as a backdrop to boost Ben-Gvir's far-right credentials. This display of 'captives' isn't being done by a terrorist group. It's being done by a minister of a national government.

I'm not saying you should vote for people based on how funny they are, but it's not an insignificant fact that one candidate in Dublin Central seems capable of normal human humour (bonus that they also are on top of the detail of policy & profoundly committed to the area...)

Disappointing to see the SocDems and Sinn Fein ally with the Government last night to undermine the Climate Act. Now that FF and FG are clearly rowing back from our climate commitments and ambition on renewable energy, opposition parties should be scrutinizing their actions, not supporting them.

The Government is proposing levies on different Departments to combat overspending, while also floating the idea of tax cuts during by-election season - how much of this is electioneering? 🤔

The Liffey is an icon of Dublin, but it’s also a dividing line. It divides the north from the south. There’s politicians in this election who want to further that division. But I don’t think that’s what we are about. When you’re on the Liffey you can see clearly that we are one city and one river.

This cannot be shouted loudly enough. Far-right, anti-immigration, misogynistic and bigoted rhetoric is VERY loud online but it doesn't represent the majority of people or communities. But it is corrosive and we need to guard against it.

Across the country every year, parents of children with additional needs face a scramble for school places and supports, sometimes needing to submit multiple applications to different schools and only securing a place well into the summertime.

I spoke this evening at a rally outside Dáil Éireann supporting our Earth Day motion; demanding the Government recommit to its 2030 climate targets, to cease its legislative efforts undermining the Climate Act and to properly fund Ireland's Nature Restoration Plan.

Spain shows us how we can insulate ourselves from future energy shocks and keep prices down for consumers - invest in renewables ASAP. We know what we need to do, we just need a Government that will do it.

First shared by @greens-efa.eu almost four years ago, this message feels just as urgent today amid a deepening energy crisis. We can’t keep ignoring the root cause: our dependence on fossil fuels - driving conflict, damaging our environment, and pushing costs ever higher for ordinary people.

One thing that struck me at Budapest Pride last year was the amount of locals who said to us that they were proudly marching for the first time. They were sick of the demonisation of minorities, the grotesque corruption and the gradual chipping away of democracy - and that Orbán needed to go.

Yes this Government needs to do more to help in the cost of living crisis, but abolishing the Carbon Tax, the one tax that is ring fenced to help the most vulnerable, would be the wrong thing to do. Can the government cut carbon tax, and what would happen if it did? jrnl.ie/7007865

Some welcome news for residents in the Kilmartin area - new shops and amenities are close to being finished in the Kilmartin Local Centre development. More apts. will also be delivered here alongside the Kilmartin Town Centre development across the road, with a new creche being delivered here too.

Big claims, but a weak case presented by the airlines this week on the Dublin Airport passenger cap. EU legal opinion is that the passenger cap is likely lawful. The “Open Skies” argument is untested and unproven. What sounds convincing… isn’t holding up in court.
