The only chart that matters when it comes to housing — Between 2019 and Q2 2025, planning permission for 329,637 units granted, but only 213,790 started. There’s no issue with zoning, no issue with planning. They are just not being built — except 2024, then the new government crashed that.

BREAKING: Green Party councillors have walked out of Belfast City Council’s meeting after the Lord Mayor blocked a member from speaking on the Gaza genocide and refused a recess to resolve it. This is a clear overreach of the Mayor’s duty to act impartially.

It's been 3 months since I posed this question to the Min. for Health and HSE. The climate emergency isn’t just about weather - it’s about lives. And if we aren't measuring something, we can’t manage it.

IrishRail is to be commended for the extra services they have put on for big events recently - I think it shows that there is an appetite for intercity services beyond 8/9pm and later services on commuter routes too. Here's their response on whether these later services could be made permanent

This week, we all have an important choice to make as we elect our next Uachtarán na hÉireann. Catherine Connolly is the candidate who will continue to put climate action and social justice at the heart of the Presidency - we urge you to give her your number 1 vote.

A real privilege to speak at the final rally for Catherine in Galway last night. I’m incredibly optimistic that, tomorrow we will see her elected as the next Uachtarán na hÉireann 🗳️ Polls are open until 10pm - turnout reportedly low so far....

🏠Having a warm place to live should not depend solely on a landlord's decision. ❗We need a Government strategy to ensure that everyone benefits from this retrofit revolution with increased incentives and minimum BER standards for rental properties.

The Land-hoarding Tax (RZLT) was introduced last year. It's been a success. 2,000 returns filed. Over €40 million eared to the State. Why is the Government allowing another year for landowners to seek an exemption? Land zone for housing needs to be brought into use now.

Nothing in the Budget to advance a Public Model of Childcare. Big reforms like this take time, need to be supported through each budget. The Government is failing to progress this vital reform that will address affordability and capacity.

Over the summer, the Government raided the Climate & Nature fund to pay for gaps in their infrastructure bill. Today's Budget could have fixed that and committed new investment for nature and the environment. Unfortunately, there has been no change in their approach. A wasted opportunity.

Drones have a value in our society, but they are a really new technology and there has to be rules about how they work. That's why I have drafted a law to regulate delivery drones, addressing the issues raised in Dublin 15 and that the Govt have so far ignored.
